OTTAWA, Ontario — Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has joined other world leaders in calling on Syria’s president to resign amid a violent crackdown.
Harper says the regime has lost all legitimacy and the Syrian people have the right to determine their own future.
Thousands have been killed or detained over the last five months as Syrians protest against the government.
U.S. President Barack Obama, as well as European leaders are also calling for Assad to quit.
